Description: the first module of the “Python. First steps” course will allow students to discover the fascinating world of programming through the control of a game character. At each lesson, students have to solve tasks on several levels, of different complexity, for which they need to write a program.

In this module, students will learn the basic syntax and structure of the Python language, review and learn how to use programming tools such as variable, loop, branching, functions, and events.

This course enables students to gain first-hand experience of writing their own Python programs, develop logic, algorithmic thinking, and personal computer skills.

What is needed: personal computer with web connection support (webcam and microphone), an Internet connection speed of AT LEAST 7 MB/s (incoming and outgoing).

Preparing for the first lesson: before the first lesson, students are provided with all the necessary information on how to install the required training programs on their computer, as well as instructions on how to install and operate Zoom.

The teacher helps students understand all the tools and programs in the first trial lesson that will be used in the course, as well as gives an introductory lesson with practical tasks for students.

Form of education: training takes place in groups (no more than 8 people) once a week. During the remote lesson, students work in the Zoom program, where the teacher has the opportunity to monitor their work and help using the remote control function.

Students will continue to work with the basic structures of the Python programming language in the second module of the “Python. First steps”.

Students will get acquainted with logical operators, conditional and unconditional loops, and get an initial knowledge of creating games in Python in the second module. The course participants will consider the structure of computer games and the principles of interaction of their elements, get acquainted with the concept of the database, goals and mechanics of the game. As a result of passing the module, a native Python game will be created.

Working with this course allows students to gain experience in writing programs in Python, develop logic, algorithmic thinking and personal computer skills.

Students will get acquainted with the software environment processing, which is convenient to learn the basics of programming, including in Python in the third module of the course “Python. First step”.

In the third module, students will learn how to work with graphic objects in a new environment and apply the knowledge and skills gained in previous modules to create simple games from scratch. Students will create the following games “Clicker”, “Ping – Pong”, “Arkanoid” and a maze as a result of passing this module.

Working with this course will allow students to improve their own experience in writing their own programs in Python, develop logic, algorithmic thinking and personal computer skills.
